TSC Signature Facial with Chemical Peel

As we age, our body's ability to renew our cells reduces immensely. While in our 20s, we are able to renew cells to reveal a fresher appearance anywhere from 14-21 days compared to our 40s in which it slows down to 40-65 days. Why is cell renewal important you might ask? It aids in the process of anti-aging. When your cell turnover rate is low, the result is drier, dull looking skin where new skin cells are unable to travel from the deeper layers of the epidermis to the top layer to shed off old skin.

This facial is customized for all skin types. The TSC Signature Facial with a low-grade Chemical Peel is suitable for all skin types. Our customizable Signature Facial will return your skin's appearance to its natural glow. The healing properties of the face mask leaves the skin with a natural vibrancy, while improving the colour and refining the pores.

In addition to relaxation, you get the benefit of cell renewal with our low-grade Chemical Peels. Your skin is nourished while the dead skin cells are reduced and fresh, glowing skin is revealed.

What Chemical Peels Do We Offer?

Chemical Peels currently offered at Thornhill Skin Clinic are different levels of Glycolic, Salicylic, and Lactic Acids. With a custom approach to your skincare, we offer different strengths and levels of Chemical Peels to support your skin concerns. With a series of these Peels, you will see a remarkable difference in your skin tone and texture.

The Lactic Peel is extremely hydrating, smooths lines and is suitable for mature and young skin, sun damage and acne prone concerns. Lactic Peels also help lighten pigmentation and even skin tone. Lactic Peels are safe for sensitive skin and even women during pregnancy, as they are very gentle on the skin leaving it smooth, refreshed and glowing.

Glycolic Peels are our most popular Peel provided at Thornhill Skin Clinic. A Glycolic Peel will bring back the glow of healthy skin and minimize hyperpigmented areas using increasing strengths of pure alpha-hydroxy acid. We recommend this peel for most skin types, especially mature, dull and sun-damaged skin. This Peel is also effective in treating active acne as part of a regimen.

Salicylic Peels are suited for patients with severe acne, congestion, blackheads and frequent breakouts. Skin that is more acne-prone, oily or scarred and cystic will benefit from the light shedding after receiving this Chemical Peel. It is excellent for adult acne and can be tailored as a spot treatment.

Your aesthetician will assess your skin type and medical history during your appointment and treat you with the Chemical Peel most suitable for your skin type.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Face, Neck, Chest, and Back, and essentially any other areas that could benefit from cell renewal.

Can I Combine Them with Other Treatments?

Yes! Combination therapies yield some of the most remarkable results. Your Practitioner will guide you as to the best combination treatments for your skin concerns.

How Often Should I Do This Treatment?

Depending on your skin concern, a TSC Signature Facial with a low-grade Chemical Peel can be done 2-4 weeks apart. For best results, your Aesthetician will guide you in the most productive direction.

How Do I Prepare for This Treatment?

Please avoid using any retinols or products with active ingredients at least 5 days prior as your skin may be more sensitive. Be sure to let your Aesthetician know any products currently in your skincare regimen.

If receiving skin treatments while using medications such as Accutane, make sure to mention this to your attending Aesthetician before treatment begins

Is There Downtime?

There is no downtime with our Signature Facials with a low-grade Chemical Peel for the most part. Some patients can experience mild redness post-treatment that subsides on its own within hours. It is completely reasonable to have a Facial and low grade Chemical Peel on your lunch break and go back to work looking refreshed and glowing!

How Often Should I Get This Treatment?

For best results and to get your skin on track,  4-6  treatments are recommended at one month intervals. Maintenance treatments should always be a consideration for long term skin health and anti-aging goals.

Post-Care Recommendations:

Always wear sunscreen with SPF30 or higher following a cell renewal treatment (even in the winter months). Do not apply make-up for at least 4 hours. Do not exfoliate for a minimum 48 hours after treatment. Other specified instructions will be given upon completion of your appointment.
