The Vampire Facelift, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRP & PRF) takes advantage of the healing properties and restorative power of your own Plasma. This treatment does not involve any cutting or invasive surgery. PRP therapy involves collecting a vial of the patient’s own blood and placing it into a special centrifuge where it is spun at a very rapid rate. During this process, the blood is separated into its active parts. This method is done to isolate the Platelets. How Often Should I Do This Treatment?

This treatment can be done twice a year. For best results, your Medical Aesthetician will guide you in the most productive direction.

How Do I Prepare for This Treatment?

Be sure to drink plenty of water prior to your appointment! Drinking plenty of fluids helps to yield more blood during the blood draw so in turn, more of those magical and effective Platelets are collected.

Avoid using alcohol, aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (like Ibuprofen), St. John’s Wort, or high doses of Vitamin A and Arnica. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Is There Downtime?

Downtime is minimal. As with any treatment involving needles, there is always a risk of bruising and swelling. Some patients may want to touch up the treated area with make-up before resuming their day. Some patients report a tingling sensation after injection. All of these effects will disseminate up to 7 days post-treatment.

As Platelet Rich Plasma is healing in nature, downtime is accelerated!

Post-Care Recommendations:

After your Vampire Facelift treatment, you should NOT do any of the following for 4 hours:

• Apply make-up or wash your face
• Touch the injection area or rub the skin where the treatment has been performed
• Swim or undertake any strenuous exercise
• Expose yourself to longs periods in the sun
• Go to a sauna or steam room
• Drink very hot or cold beverages
• Undergo any complementary treatment such as peelings, laser treatments, etc. for at least 3 weeks post-treatment

As PRP is healing in nature, we would want the magical Platelets to be absorbed for as long as possible!

Are There Any Side Effects or Adverse Reactions:

Platelet Rich Plasma and Platelet Rich Fibrin is a natural treatment since it is derived from your own blood. However, the injection of PRP/PRF is still a minor invasive procedure and most of the reactions that may occur are from the needles themselves. These reactions may include: redness, local swelling, itching, local pain, and bruising. These are common to any injection procedure and are temporary, typically resolving on their own up to 7 days post-treatment.

Results:

Typically, first results are visible 2 weeks after treatment and full results around 4 months after, as platelets stimulate the release of growth factors which assist in collagen regeneration. Increasing the collagen in your skin means over time your skin will appear rejuvenated, younger and fresher looking. Results will vary from one individual to the other.

Treatment results vary however in most patients the results last up to 18 months. Maintenance treatments should always be considered as aging is an ongoing process and our skin is exposed to environmental factors daily.
