IPL Blue Light Therapy

Treating Acne with Intense Pulsed Light

For those suffering with cystic and active acne, Intense Pulse Light is a very effective and popular treatment option. Topical applications, like ointments and creams, are popular for treating acne, but may irritate the skin, and do not actually reduce acne bacteria. In most cases, patients experience rebound acne which can be frustrating and emotionally debilitating. While antibiotics may be effective in some cases, they often require long-time use, and are not recommended unless necessary. Some acne drugs have been linked with potentially serious side effects.

Effective and comfortable, Intense Pulse Light works quickly and thoroughly to kill acne bacteria. Destroying bacteria faster than they proliferate, Intense Pulse Light counters acne better than any conventional method. With minimal side effects and downtime, it also eliminates the issue of patient compliance.

      Destroying Acne At Its Source

Acne, a widespread and socially frustrating condition. While not life-threatening, acne can cause long-term physical and emotional scaring. Acne is believed to be caused by a mix of genetic, hormonal and environmental factors. Current treatment options on the market have, for many patients, been ineffective and accompanied by negative side effects.

High costs and long required treatment periods also make many medications an unsatisfactory solution. Now, armed with Blue Pulsed Light technology, practitioners can effectively clear moderate inflammatory acne within one month. Blue pulsed light yields quick, impressive results without side effects, pain or photosensitivity

How Does Blue Pulsed Light Technology Work?

High-intensity Blue Pulsed Light permeates the tissue, reaching and precisely targeting the acne-causing bacteria. As the Intense Light penetrates the tissue, it sets off a chemical reaction in which endogenic porphyrins, ring-like molecules found in all living organisms, increase, attack and destroy the bacteria, stopping acne at its source. The result: extensive acne clearance in several sessions.

      What To Expect During Treatment?

The Blue Light Acne treatment is non-invasive and painless. After treatments, patients can immediately resume regular activities. After the treatment course is complete, patients will not only notice improvement in inflamed acne but in scared areas as well.

      Is It Safe?

The parameters of Blue Light are specially designed to match your skin type, assuring exceptionally exact and gentle treatment. Clinical trials conducted by leading authorities on pulse light document its safety and efficacy

Can I Combine Them with Other Treatments?

Yes! Combination therapies yield some of the most remarkable results. It is best paired with a Cell Renewal treatment, like our Signature Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peel, and Micropeel treatments. Your Medical Aesthetician will guide you as to the best combination treatments for your skin concerns.

      What Areas Can Be Treated?

Face, Neck, Chest, and Back, and essentially any other areas that could benefit from the removal of acne bacteria.

How Often Should I Do This Treatment?

Depending on your skin concern, Blue Pulse Light treatments can be done 2-4 weeks apart. For best results, your Aesthetician will guide you in the most productive direction.

How Do I Prepare for This Treatment?

Please avoid using any retinol or products with active ingredients at least 5 days prior as your skin may be more sensitive. Be sure to let your esthetician know any products currently in your skincare regimen.

If receiving skin treatments while using medications such as Accutane, make sure to mention this to your attending esthetician before treatment begins.
